A writing journal as a writer's strategy
Keeping a writing journal is a useful strategy in a writer's process. Having a historical record of your process as well as the act of making your thoughts visual stimulates your creative development.
But keeping a journal is not the same as writing a book. It is either the preparation for, or the reflection on your book writing.
A journal is normally not for public viewing giving you the freedom to doubt and despair in private while practicing your writerly flow.
At the same time that I am starting this site I am engaged in developing a writing career. These pages track my thoughts and experiences on writing in a direct and revealing manner. Every entry deal with the process or the struggle on the way to write a book.
My primary writing concern is to write engaging stories and I focus on novels and picture books.
Welcome to my writing journey.
P.S. I will keep up with my journal at least until I have my first book published, or until I give up entirely on the idea of publication.
Note: I have moved the writing journal to my personal site using blogging software. That means it is now interactive and you can leave comments on my posts.
